Vital Investment Management

How we work

A simple process. A serious first conversation.

You do not need a twelve-step onboarding ritual. You need to know what happens after you say yes to a call, and what will not happen, especially if the work is planning and personal investment management.

  1. 01

    30–45 minutes

    Discovery Call

A conversation with Rusty about your goals, your household, and the pressure you are actually under: retirement timing, investments, taxes, or a decision you have been postponing. No questionnaire marathon. No obligation to become a client.

What to expect. You should leave knowing whether we are the right kind of firm, and what a next meeting would cover.

  2. 02

    Typically 2–4 weeks

    Deep Dive Planning

We gather the real picture: income and savings, investment accounts, tax estimates, Social Security, estate documents, and what “done” looks like for you. If you own a business, that sits in the same view. You will do some homework. We will do more.

What to expect. A clear set of priorities, gaps, and recommendations: cash flow, retirement, taxes, and investments in one plan.

  3. 03

Paced to your life, not a sales cycle

    Implementation

Accounts, investment policy, savings and retirement actions, tax-aware moves, and introductions to counsel or your CPA when needed. We sequence work so the household, and the company, if you have one, does not get disrupted.

What to expect. Specific moves, owners for each, and a written record of why we made them.

  4. 04

    Quarterly and as life happens

    Ongoing Partnership

Markets will move. A job change, a retirement date, a parent’s care, a sale, a health scare. We stay in it: reviews, rebalancing, plan updates, and a person who already knows the story.

What to expect. A standing relationship, not an annual performance letter and a holiday card.

Clear expectations

  • You will not be asked to move assets on the first call.
  • We will tell you if we are not the right fit, or if a CPA or attorney should go first.
  • Confidentiality is the default. You are talking to a fiduciary firm.
  • The work is paced to your life. We do not blow up a busy season for a planning calendar.
  • You should always know the next step, who owns it, and why it matters.

If the process feels like a fit, the next step is thirty minutes.

A discovery call with Rusty is confidential, fiduciary, and pressure-free. Bring the mess. That is the point.
