About the firm

A fee-only fiduciary firm, not an advisor on an island.

Vital Investment Management is an independent, fee-only RIA founded by David Eads, CFP®. In 2025 we opened a New England office so East Coast clients have the same depth of firm behind them, led locally by Rusty Tredwell.

About us

Our goals are perfectly aligned with yours.

We are a fee-only fiduciary firm. We always put our clients' best interests first. Clients come to us for personalized, tailored investment management and financial planning. They stay because of the trust they have built with their advisor.

Vital Investment Management, LLC was formed in 2019. We are not in business to become the largest wealth management firm. We seek to provide peace of mind and the best service you will ever receive. Vital Investment Management reported over $333 million in assets under management as of August 17, 2026.

Offices in New England and Colorado mean you get a local relationship and a full firm: planning specialists, investment process, and a service team that answers the phone.

Rusty Tredwell, Senior Financial Advisor at Vital Investment Management

Senior Financial Advisor, New England

Rusty Tredwell

Thirty years across Fidelity and PIMCO, now leading Vital’s New England office from Marblehead.

In 2025, Vital opened a New England office to service our clients on the East Coast. Rusty Tredwell leads that office from Marblehead, Massachusetts, so East Coast families work with an advisor who is here, not a time zone away.

He came to this practice after three decades on the institutional side of the business: trader, consultant, and senior relationship lead for investors who write policy statements, not product brochures.

He earned a B.A. from Providence College in 1993. He began at Fidelity as a trader and fixed-income specialist, then spent nearly a decade as an investment consultant at Fidelity’s Strategic Advisers. From 2007 to 2022 he was a Senior Vice President at PIMCO, working with RIAs, family offices, and large institutional relationships on custom portfolios, complex credit, and investor policy.

That background is the point. Clients do not need another person reciting market commentary. They need someone who has sat with sophisticated capital, can explain a portfolio in plain English, and still understands that savings, retirement, taxes, and the next decade have to fit on the same page.

Rusty’s role is to make the household plan and the investment portfolio talk to each other, and to stay with you after the first plan is written. Tailored investment decisions for each client’s portfolio are made in New England by Rusty, after thorough review with each client.

David Eads, CFP®, Founder and CEO of Vital Investment Management

Founder, CEO & Managing Member

David Eads, CFP®

The firm’s founder. A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who built Vital as a fee-only fiduciary, not a product desk.

David Eads, CFP®, founded Vital Investment Management in 2019 to build an independently owned, fee-only Registered Investment Adviser that still feels local. He is the firm’s Founder, Chief Executive Officer, Managing Member, and Chief Compliance Officer.

Unlike a broker-dealer, Vital does not earn commissions for selling securities. Compensation is disclosed in a signed advisor–client agreement, typically as a percentage of the assets we manage. The firm is required to meet the fiduciary standard: to act in clients’ best interests at all times.

David is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with a career in tactical investment strategy, comprehensive planning, and the quieter work of staying close to families over decades. He has been featured in Financial Planning magazine.

His standard for the firm is simple: decisions are made by people who know the client, families are treated like family, and the goal is peace of mind, not becoming the largest shop in the book. The Colorado office in Loveland remains the firm’s home; the New England office extends that same culture to the East Coast.

How we work when it matters

Fiduciary, always

We are fee-only. We do not get paid to put you in a product. If a recommendation is not in your interest, it is not on the table.

Planning and investing together

Savings, retirement, taxes, the portfolio, and the estate plan belong in the same conversation. The company is in the room too, when you own one.

Local judgment

You work with Rusty in New England, backed by David Eads, CFP®, and the Colorado team. Tailored investment decisions for each client’s portfolio are made here by Rusty, after thorough review with each client, not outsourced to a national script.

Peace of mind over scale

Vital was not built to become the largest firm on the map. We take on work we can do well, and we stay in it.

The next step is a conversation, not a commitment.

A discovery call with Rusty is confidential, fiduciary, and pressure-free. Bring the mess. That is the point.
